Canadian Golden Age Celebration Services Foundation is a non-profit organization providing social gatherings, specific cultural events, recreational activities and technology promotion including day programs for seniors aged 55 and plus across the province more specifically in the greater Toronto area.

The Golden age celebration is a divertissement project that aligns to support the vulnerable population aged 55 and plus

The last ten years have seen the Baby Boomer generation approach or reach the age of 65. This will put additional pressure on Ontario's health care system.   Many of these seniors aged persons are from different backgrounds including French-speaking or multicultural communities. 

 

1. Operations -Canadian Golden Age Centre will provide day programming to participants aged 55 and over with access to the right care through direct connections with the medical health professionals transportation and wheelchair-accessibility environments (e.g.) elevators and ramps), as well as transportation with drivers speaking French or English to suit the beneficiaries in their preferred language. All aspects of AODA, will be followed in the construction and maintenance of the Centre.

2.    Connect— Canadian Golden Age Celebration will regularly have one on one meeting for seniors in order to maintain strong personal contacts and will encourage families to keep in touch with their relatives and close friends.

3.    Inform. The residents, ours sponsors and the families will regularly receive an update on ongoing activities through a monthly report as well as ongoing communication

4.    Protect—This Centre will be one of the best in Ontario and will protect its residents from any disease by ensuring regular check-ups with trained medical professionals, as well as well-trained staff for safety workplace (including WHMIS and A0DA) and proper medical handing. The Centre will also ensure that its facilities are well maintained to keep up with Ontario Health standards

This Project will support the priorities of the government of Ontario as referenced in the action plan doing the following

 

Helping seniors to be healthier and stay home longer.

Promoting senior-friendly communities that enhance well-being and participation and to help seniors live safely independently, with dignity

                                                                           5. Specialized Programming

 

·      The Ontario Golden Age Centre project will be specifically geared to the needs of seniors of multi-cultural backgrounds. In order to achieve its goals, the Centre will help seniors to explore different hobbies and to get creative

The seniors will exercise on a regular basis and will spend time outdoors with staff. The Centre will also allow visitors to have fun with seniors.

The Centre will provide information and assistance, wellness programs and employment assistance

 This project aligns with the priorities of the population within Toronto (specifically in the Scarborough area, the West end, and near Jane and Finch area, because it will be geared directly to help seniors of Afro-Caribbean and West Indian descent and those with French-Speaking roots by providing services specifically geared to these groups, who are often neglected, Canadian Golden Age Centre…. will ensure that participants are able to improve their well-being while participating in safe and engaging activities that connect them to their cultural background and community.

Canadian Golden Age Celebration (CGAC) will displace permanent residents within the Centre in case of renovations light disaster and will ensure that all the services are provided uninterrupted. The management will also make sure the staff are aware of the measures and actions in order to maintain the quality of our services to the residents. 

The Centre will promote a safe and clean environment, well-lit, warm daycare adapted to their needs, along with stimulating games to enhance their emotional, social, moral, cognitive, language, physical and motor development which will contribute to the development of their autonomy.
